The government formed a high level 5G committee on Tuesday. The Committee has been given the responsibility of formulating the framework for implementation of technology by 2020.

Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said, "We have constituted a high level 5G committee which will work on 5G approach, mission and goals. In the world, when 5G technology will be implemented in 2020, I am confident that India will stand with them . "

According to officials, the government is working on generating a fund of Rs 500 crore for activities related to 5G. This work will be mainly of research and product development.

Under the 5G technology, the government aims to provide 10,000 megabyte per second (mbps) in rural areas and 1000 mbps in rural areas. This committee includes the Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications, Electronics and IT and the Department of Science and Technology.

Qualcomm CEO Steven Mullenkoff had said this month that the first 5G phone will be available for general use by 2019 in the market. One of the old guesses first. The phone will be available in many Asian countries and America.
